Positive news will help us through this atypical festive season. There is plenty of support in our communities
After a difficult year, we know for sure this festive season will be different. There might be reasons to struggle, but there is also good news. In this edition, Lairg Learning Centre gives us tips to improve our wellbeing, we list some of the mental health helplines available, and we learn that The Hub and the KALM project are running many activities we can join this winter. Positive news is also the announced development for Gledfield Estate, and we are happy to hear that the recently reinstated Bonar Bridge FC is going strong and planning to improve its facilities. We might decide to support local businesses, local authors and musicians in our Christmas shopping. Children are making the most of their outdoor learning, I hope the Kids’ Chronicle will cheer you up. The heritage pages look back at local links with slavery in Guyana, and we’ll delve deep into the stories of two sets of brothers who fought in both world wars. We will remember Pat, the Irishman and his two horses. Not to be missed is the interview with the outstanding photographers Bryan & Cherry Alexander. Merry Christmas!
