The news from Ardgay Hall, like the curate’s egg, is good in parts. Current government guidance (08/05/20) means the hall remains closed - as it has been since mid March. Amongst many other things, this also means there is no income being generated for hall funds to cover ongoing running costs. Bad as this situation is there is some good news too; the hall committee has always maintained a small financial reserve as a bulwark against any unforeseen event – and Covid-19 certainly qualifies on that score – so there is no immediate danger of debt.
