Ardgay War Memorial Centenary

The War Memorial in Ardgay, commemorating casualties from Kincardine Parish, was completed and unveiled in 1922. A service to mark the centenary was held on Monday 15th August, during the Kyle of Sutherland Gala Weekend.

The well attended event was organized by Royal British Legion Scotland’s Creich & Kincardine with Lairg & Rogart Branch, with support from Kincardine Church of Scotland.

Rev. Darwin Smith conducted the service and Rev. Mary Stobo gave a brief history of the memorial. The excellent piper was 11-year-old Angus Smith, from Ardgay.
