Like all credit unions, Hi-Scot is run for the benefit of its members only and therefore they have no external shareholders. Hi-Scot serves all the Highlands & Islands, and anyone who lives or works in this area can apply to join them. They provide a safe place for savings, plus the facility to take out loans at a competitive rate of interest.
Unlike some other financial institutions such as banks, they don’t try to sell financial products and services people don’t necessarily need or possibly can’t afford. They are committed, however, to help and advise. . .
