Coul Links project planning permission refused

The controversial project Coul Links was initially given a go-ahead from Highland Councillors last year, but later called in by Scottish Ministers for further scrutiny. After careful consideration, the Scottish Government has now refused planning permission stating that “the likely detriment to natural heritage is not outweighed by the socio-economic benefits of the proposal”. The projected 18 hole golf course in Embo, which included a club house, pro-shop, caddy hut, information booth, workshop, etc was opposed by several conservation charities such as RSPB Scotland, Butterfly Conservation Scotland and the Scottish Wildlife Trust. . .
