The local broadband provider has been acquired by Lothian Broadband Networks Ltd (LBNL).
LBNL started along very similar lines as Highland Wireless working with communities who were suffering from poor and unreliable broadband and have grown to over 1300+ customers, with a team based in Haddington near Edinburgh of over 15 members.
Nic McCormick, LBNL Managing Director said, “The opportunity to acquire a successful business such as Highland Wireless to contribute to our growth plan was one we could not miss. We especially look forward to Cameron joining the wider LBNL Team and sharing our common experiences of delivering fixed wireless networks in rural communities to help us develop both businesses further for the benefit of our current and future customers.”
I am a strong believer of strength in numbers and by teaming up with LBNL we can continue to grow Highland Wireless and go further and faster. We will have access to additional resources on all sides of the business. Nothing will be changing. Highland Wireless as you know it will remain the same, we will continue to operate out of our office in Ardgay and I will be continuing my role as director of Highland Wireless going forward. We hope that by joining with LBNL we will be able to accelerate our planned network expansion, community projects and growth of Highland Wireless.
