The Hub reopened its doors to the public on the 26th April. The first week was just for gym users and the café. From the first week in May we have once again offered our extensive programme of activities that covers all ages from birth to 90+
We had a team of volunteers in to help us to put the marquee back up for the summer months, to all these volunteers we would like to thank from the bottom of our hearts – we couldn’t have done it without your help.
Once again, the marquee has given us the space to allow for social distancing and has allowed us to hold our first marquee market sale. The turnout and support from the local community at our sale has been amazing, thank you. We will be holding market sales every month throughout the summer, keep an eye on our Facebook page and posters around the village for the August sale date. Why not pop along and grab a bargain? The café will be open all day serving from our new summer menu. There will also be a selection of home-made cakes to enjoy with a hot beverage.
Between markets, our second-hand sales point is available inside the Hub. There is always a bargain to be had. We have a huge range of books for sale and clothes out on sale, why not pop into the Hub for a browse? Our second-hand point is kept looking beautiful by our amazing volunteer Marion, thank you Marion.
Activities we will be running over the summer months include our Adult Crafty Café. This is a café with a difference, why not come along and enjoy a cuppa and a cake whilst joining in with some great crafts to bring out your inner creativity! These Adult Crafty Cafés run every Wednesday from 1pm – 2.30pm. No experience is necessary, the crafts are kept simple, and there is always a member of staff on hand to help.
Our pre-school café runs every Friday morning from 9.30am – 11am. A Craft activity will be set up at your pre-booked table for you to do with your child, there will also be outdoor activities set up each week to allow your little ones to run off some energy!
Back by popular demand are our Family Crafty Cafés, these vary from after school to weekend slots. Parents can meet up outdoors in the marquee with other households, whilst the children enjoy the company of their friends.
Boogie Bounce is back every week over the summer, this is a fun fitness class for pre-school and primary school children.
Youth Café: youths can book in for the Feel-Good Friday Café and enjoy a meal and an activity, it also allows our youths to meet up with friends in a safe, relaxed and happy atmosphere.
The popular “Over 60s” Coffee Afternoons are on every second Monday. Why not book a table with your friends or come along and meet new friends whilst enjoying a cuppa and our homemade cakes and biscuits.
Booking is essential for all the activities we are offering, so why not pop over to our Facebook page and give it a like so you can then see our weekly programmes. Don’t have Facebook? Then just pop into the Hub to pick up a copy of our weekly programme.
New summer menu
The Hub Café has a new summer menu serving delicious salads and baguettes. We also have home-made cakes and biscuits on offer daily. We have installed screens between tables to keep everyone safe and our beautiful patio to the rear of the building is great for sunny days.
The Hub Community Gym is open and operating a booking only system, with stringent cleaning regulations in place. Never been to the gym before? Why not pop in for a tour of our facility, the views from the gym are so amazing you will forget you are working out! Inductions are free, and we have payment options to suit all budgets.
Thank you to everyone that has supported us over the last year, we couldn’t do what we are doing without your support. Also, a huge thank you to our funders, you have enabled us to deliver these programmes. We are enjoying welcoming old and new faces to the Hub which maintains a fully Covid compliant building to ensure everyone’s safety.
