The Church at Croick has an important place not only in the history of the area but it is accepted as being of national importance. It was one of the “Parliamentary” churches built to allow very rural communities easier access to a place of worship. Thomas Telford, well respected for his civil engineering projects which included harbours, roads and bridges throughout the Highlands, designed this and other churches which were then built to a more or less standard plan.
